From Philly ’Burbs to Napa Vines: How a Pretzel Craving Sparked Love Park Pretzels

Every business starts with a story. Ours started with a craving - a craving for Philly-style soft pretzels in the middle of Napa Valley, where wine flows but pretzels were nowhere to be found.

Growing Up Philly

I grew up in the Philly 'burbs, where soft pretzels are more than food - they’re a way of life. You find them at ball games, street corners, even school fundraisers. Moving to Napa Valley for the wine industry, I expected to miss cheesesteaks and hoagies. What I didn’t expect? That I wouldn’t be able to find a pretzel anywhere.

Teaching Myself to Bake

So I did what any true Philadelphian would do when faced with a snack emergency - I rolled up my sleeves and figured it out myself. After plenty of trial and error, I created my own recipe. A little Philly grit, a little Napa craft later, Love Park Pretzels was born.

Farmers’ Market Hustle

The early days weren’t glamorous. I strapped all my market gear to the roof of my tiny Honda FIT and headed to local farmers’ markets. Week after week, I baked, packed and set up shop. People lined up for a taste of something they didn’t even realize they were missing - a real soft pretzel.

Growing Into Something Bigger

From those early market mornings, Love Park Pretzels has grown into so much more. Today, we’re proud to run a thriving wholesale business, ship pretzels across California through our online store, and serve up salty goodness at special events.

Meet Trixie

And then there’s Trixie - our vintage pretzel trailer. She’s become a staple at events, weddings and festivals, serving pretzels with a side of nostalgia and plenty of Philly pride.

From the Philly ’burbs to Napa vines, from a Honda FIT roof rack to Trixie the pretzel trailer - this has been a journey fueled by passion (and a lot of dough). Love Park Pretzels is proof that when you can’t find what you’re craving, sometimes you’ve got to create it yourself.
