When people ask how Love Park Pretzels started, I usually tell them it began with a craving. I grew up in the Philly suburbs, where soft pretzels were everywhere - at school, outside stadiums, on street corners. Here in Napa Valley, there is incredible food and wine but one thing was missing: a real Philly-style pretzel.
So, I started baking. At first, it was just for us - lots of trial and error, lots of flour combinations and a fair share of not-so-great batches. Over time, I figured out the right balance of chew and flavor. That recipe became the backbone of Love Park Pretzels.
From Kitchen Experiments to Farmers’ Markets
The early days were scrappy. I loaded my equipment on top of my Honda FIT and showed up at local farmers’ markets. People would stop, take a bite and immediately “get it.” That reaction told me I was onto something.
Today, we’re still rooted in that same ethos: simple, handmade pretzels, baked with care and good ingredients. You’ll still find me at local markets, but now our pretzels are also in wineries, breweries and events across Napa.
Even though I’m the one baking, this business isn’t just me.
Jon (my husband) - He’s a winemaker by trade, but he helps shape the behind-the-scenes of this business and keeps me sane when I’m juggling markets, wholesale and orders.
Trixie - Our vintage pretzel trailer. She’s part of the team, too. Trixie rolls up to weddings, festivals and pop-ups, turning pretzels into more than just a snack - an experience.
Our community partners - From local breweries to wineries, they’ve helped us grow and bring pretzels to new audiences.
What We Care About
At Love Park Pretzels, I try to keep things straightforward: use good flour, make pretzels by hand and stay connected to our community.
Regenerative flour: We work with traceable, no-till wheat farms. It’s better for the environment and gives our pretzels the flavor I was chasing all along.
Quality over shortcuts: Every pretzel is mixed, rolled, twisted and baked with care.
Community: From donating pretzels during wildfire relief to supporting local events, this business is tied to the place we live.
Pretzels might seem simple, but to me, they’re more than a snack. They’re part of my childhood, a piece of Philadelphia I carried to California and now a way to connect with people at markets, events or through a mailed box of frozen pretzels.
Every order you place - whether it’s a dozen shipped across California or a bag picked up at a market - keeps this story going.
I absolutely LOVE these pretzels, and will continue to order them and share them with friends.
Courtney is a gem! Her product is excellent, and her service and communication are superior. If you haven't tried these pretzels... you are missing out! Order them!!
